Johnny McEvoy Archive’s
In the last two weeks the Trim Gaa Club PRO John Andrews received a very welcome surprise, Lisa McEvoy-Rispin the daughter of former club Chairman Johnny McEvoy enquired would I like to have a look at the collection of old VHS Tapes that her father filmed and collected over the years. I was delighted to take up this offer. I went to look at the collection and was amazed and astounded by what I seen, it was a treasure throve of Trim Gaa matches that spanned across four decades. It covered Football, Camogie and Hurling matches from our adult teams but also had underage matches from the eighties. A huge historical archive of film from Trim Gaa matches witch is so valuable to the history of our Club. The club are so grateful to Mona McEvoy who kept the tapes in pristine condition for the last 30/40 years and we thank Mona and her family for making this truly remarkable Trim Gaa historical archive available to the Trim GAA Club.
