Trim advanced to the Junior B Championship Final on Sunday morning, with a hard fought win over Gaeil Colmcilles.

Trim started the first half against the wind and were on the attack from the off. Sinead Murphy settled the players early nerves, when she pointed in quick succession and Niamh Mahon slotted over, to put the home side 0-03 ahead. After some fine team play, Niamh Mahon raised the green flag, when she fired to the top corner from distance.

Colmcilles replied with their first point before Katie Newman restored the 5 point advantage, with her first score of the day. At the back, Trims defence were working hard to keep the visitors at bay. Trim looked dangerous going forward, and Shona White scored a superb goal, after a move which saw Trim work the ball through the hands from one side of the pitch to the other, before White dispatched to the net. To be fair to the away side, they continued to battle for every ball, and were rewarded with a goal from their busy No.14. Trim responded with a point from Mahon. At the break Trim led by 2-05 to 1-02.

With the wind behind them now, Trim started the second half well, adding further points from Newman, White, Maguire and Mahon. The away side made it interesting in the final 10 mins when they raised 2 green flags in succession, one from a penalty. However, Trim continued to keep them at arms length as Hanifan slotted 2 points, before White and Anna Foley completed the Home sides scoring for the day.

Trim will now meet Dunboyne on 15 October in the Junior B Final, time and Venue TBC.
