Trim Senior B travelled to Kildalkey for the final round of the Senior B Championship, with just one step remaining between them and the semi-final.
Trim came away with the win they needed to secure their place in the knockout stages. It was a game that tested the girls at times, but they continued to work hard and showed great determination to see the result through.
Kildalkey were awarded a penalty, but Gráinne produced a fantastic save to deny them. She then showed great reactions to make a second save from the rebound, but a lapse in the Trim defence allowed the ball to eventually cross the line. The girls continued to push forward though and looked to respond at the other end.
Ellen Murray kept the scoreboard ticking over with some excellent frees, while Shona White once again made an impact after coming on, contributing a number of scores.
There was plenty of work being done throughout the pitch, with Leanne Massey, Lauren Farrell and Katie Holden putting in a solid defensive shift, while Alex, Julianne and Amy worked hard across the half-back line. Rían and Bláithín battled away in midfield, with Ellen Birmingham and Emma Hannafin also working hard to create opportunities going forward.
The Trim girls showed plenty of resilience to keep pushing until the final whistle and, most importantly, came away with the result that secured their place in the Senior B Championship Semi-Final!
