Trim Minor Footballers played their second league game in a rearranged away fixture at Walterstown on Monday evening. On what was a wonderful night for football, Trim started the game brightly and got off to an early lead with some fine points following some smart interchange play throughout the pitch. The hosts rallied well and came back with two fine long distance points resulting in a tight opening to the game. Trim won plenty of possession and made it count with two quick goals – one each from Kyle Ennis and Ben Gaffney. The first half finished well for Trim with Ben Gaffney adding another goal to give the visitors a strong lead at Half Time - 0:4 to 3:8. Aided by a slight breeze in the second half, Trim pushed on hitting an impressive 12 points and working another goal from Kyle Ennis. Walterstown continued to add some very impressive scores but were held at bay by some fine goalkeeping from Eoin O’Reilly. A very entertaining game, played in the right spirit and accompanied by some strong performances across the pitch for both teams, the early goals on this occasion proving decisive. Trim are on their travels again in the next match against St Patricks.
