Our Adult Camógs got their Summer League campaign off to the perfect start with an impressive team performance against Ashbourne last Monday evening.

From the opening whistle, Trim set the tempo with strong defending, relentless work rate and some excellent score-taking, never allowing Ashbourne to get a foothold in the game.

Ellen Murray was in outstanding form in front of the posts, consistently finding her range and keeping the scoreboard ticking over throughout the contest.

Just before the break, Emma Hannifin produced the score of the game, weaving her way through the Ashbourne defence before finishing brilliantly to the net to give Trim a healthy half-time lead.

There were excellent performances right across the field, with experienced players leading by example while the younger members of the panel made a big impact with their energy, confidence and determination.

At the back, Leighann Massey and Lauren Farrell anchored a disciplined defensive display, helping to limit Ashbourne's scoring opportunities as Trim continued to control the game.

Overall, it was a well-deserved opening-round victory built on teamwork, commitment and some excellent passages of camogie.
