The Trim u16 girls travelled up the road to Ratoath to contest the Div5 Final on Sunday evening.
The large crowd in Ratoath were treated to a magnificent game of football from start to finish but the Trim side proved to be that bit stronger on the day and would come out as the eventual winners by 2pts.
Three first half goals from the excellent Katie Regan, Heather Sloan and Cadhla Barry gave Trim a 2pt lead at half time.
The second half was a brilliant contest with an excellent standard of football on display.
Two early goals from Heather Sloan and Lucia Kelliher helped Trim maintain their momentum but Ratoath would not go away and replied with two goals of their own.
Sadbh O’Neill would then produce the goal of the game after a superb pass from Lucia Kelliher. Niamh Allut would then make a crucial save to keep Trim side in front.
With the game in the melting pot right up until the very end the defence held firm through the leadership of Shona McCaffrey and Aoife Creevey at the back, and it was enough to get the Trim side over the line.
