Trim Camogie Club wish to thank the outgoing Adult management team of Leighton Massey & Zane Donoghue who have advised that they will not be seeking another year in charge.  To Caitriona Holden, team secretary and FLO for both teams on an amazing job and to Noel Hughes who was added to the management team this year.   

 

The achievements, in less than two years under their management, are not only a testament to what they brought on a coaching level to Trim Camogie but what they brought to us on a personal level is far more.    Leighton and Zane coached both our adult teams never splitting the girls up until game day and creating a group of girls who give everything for each other on and off the pitch.  If one team was playing the rest of the panel were on the sideline.   The lads’ passion and enthusiasm was brought to every training session and every game and demonstrated by the girls on the pitch.  Their motto is “it’s all about the girls” and Trim Camogie are the better for this in 2025 with each and everyone of our girls, from the youngest Junior player to the more Senior player getting Trim Camogie back to Senior status for 2024 and retaining it for 2025.   Not forgetting the other 2023 “achievement” of getting a Trim top on Zane !! 

 

Trim Camogie may have lost the lads as coaches but Trim GAA are lucky to have Leighton and Zane as part of our Club with their girls and boys hugely involved in teams in the Club so we’ll still see them on the sidelines and we’re sure passing on some tips 😊  Leighton, Zane, Caitríona and Noel thank you just isn’t enough for the absolute rollercoaster that you brought us on in 2023/2024 and you are really going to be missed. 

 

2023/2024 Intermediate Panel/Senior Panel.  Winning the Div 3 League Shield and bringing the girls to their first adult championship since 2001 when they won the Intermediate Championship.  With the winning of the Championship we then progressed into Leinster where we got to the semi-final.    A great experience for both the management and the girls to represent our County.   With our promotion to Senior B for 2024 the hardwork, dedication and teamwork under Leighton and Zane continued and the girls progressed to the Senior B Final at the first time of asking and were only narrowly beaten on the day by a strong and experienced Boardsmill team.
