🔴⚾ Trim v Kildalkey Div B U/14🔴⚾
🔴Trim got their 1st win of the campaign last night against a young Kildalkey side who had some great individual displays. Trim were a little stronger on the night as both teams served up some brilliant passages of forward and defensive play.
Trim playing against a strong wind showed tremendous skill and determination to lead at half time. They backed each other up throughout by making runs into space to give each other options while being closed down by Kildalkey. Our backline was brilliantly led by no 6 Kayleigh and no. 3 Cadhla. Shona who selflessly played in goal brought off some brave saves which were vital to keeping Trim out of reach. Our cornerbacks of Aoife and Cliona were tigerish in defence. Tamsin and Charlee tirelessly carried and worked the ball out of defence from halfback.
Our forward line were dominant through hard work and delightful skill and interplay. We are lucky to have such talented girls in this area who can move about so easily while offering a serious scoring threat with the talented half forwards of Katie, Aoibhinn and Elsie leading the way. Milly who is getting used to playing closer to goal this season is a lovely hurler and can really play anywhere. Aoibh worked hard and won some vital balls in the first half to help set up great team scores. Lucia who is also a talented player came on to add some extra drive and skill to our forwards in the second half.
Our athletic and brave midfield of Sadbh and Emily worked tirelessly throughout with some fantastic scores thrown in.
⚾ Special mention must go to Nova who had put in a storming display scoring 4 brilliant goals which helped give us great confidence during the game. Nova's young cousins from England, who had never seen a camogie game before, were there at the end of the game to congratulate her.
🔴 The coaches and supporters were treated to a fine team display and its great to see the girls enjoy their hurling. It gives heart to hear of and see the girls practicing the skills at home and down the GAA during the Summer.
