On Saturday last, Trim Gaa lost another stalwart of our 1962 Senior Football Championship winning team, as Brendan Moynihan sadly passed away.
Brendan was to the forefront of Trim football teams for many years and played a pivotal role from Centre Half Back when the Keegan Cup was won by Trim in 1962.
A quiet, unassuming man, Brendan continued to have a keen interest in all Trim Gaa matters when his playing days were over.
He ran the very successful, Tara Press, on Patrick St for all his working life, until illness forced him to retire.
Brendan’s Father, Ned, was a leading official in the Club serving in all Executive roles.
Brendan spent his last remaining years in the wonderful care of Beaufort Nursing Home and retained his interest in our Club’s progress in Championships.
Trim Gaa extend our sincere sympathy to Brendan’s family, his sister Maureen and nephew Anthony.
May Brendan Rest in Peace.
