Adult Ladies Junior C Championship
Dee Rangers 1-04 Trim 8-17
Trim ladies got their Championship aspirations back on track with a thumping win away to Dee Rangers on Monday night at Sydden GAA.
It was a fitting response to their narrow defeat to Kilbride in Round 1.
Trim were quick out of the blocks and Shona White found the net in the first 3 minutes.
Trim controlled the midfield area, with Anna Bolger and Rachel Mc Cormack dominating. In Goal, Jodie Leavy dealt well with what came her way and her pinpoint kickouts started many a Trim Attack. At the back, Kate Dunne and Ellen Dennis were solid down the middle, with Emily O Brien and Sophie Purcell doing likewise in the corners. Isabelle Varley and Megan Corrish sniffed out any Home sides attacks , with Varley, in particular , startling many an attack from the back.
Up top, Sophia Maguire, Aoibhin Shortt and the lively White, tormented the Rangers defence. Maguire and Shortt took some fine scores and created many with their running.
In the full forwards, Aoife Mc Donnell, Lauren Fagan and Dervla Fahey took some fine scores as Trim went on to win well.
The away side emptied the bench and two Subs, Amy Mc Dermott and Hannah Dardis, both raised Green Flags when firing to the net late on.
An interesting stat from the match was that Trim had ten players that scored in the match.
Trim now host Na Fianna next week ,knowing that a win will ensure them a semi final spot, for the second year in succession.
