On a warm sunny Sunday afternoon Trim GAA second string defeated north Meath’s Kilskyre/Moylagh. This was an entertaining Div 3 Hurling league encounter. The town side scored their first point in the fifth minute and we’re never headed after that. Michael Cullen added brace of points from play and Then Cullen struck a hammer blow to The north meath side with a beautiful left handed strike to the back of the net. This goal by Cullen gave The reds a six point lead with just twelve minutes played. Kilskyre fought back with two points before the evergreen Stephen Doyle hit a great point from the side line at the club house side.. Youngster James Murray hit the next Score for Trim in the twenty second minute. Kilskyre were not going away and scored a lovely point from play to reduce Trims lead. James Murray finished off the scoring in the first half with a well taken point from play.

Trim started the second half brightly and The reds notched three points in the first ten minutes of the second half . The points came from Michael Cullen James Murray and the lively Conor McKeown. Kilskyre then started a fight back and with Meath Hurling Captain Seán Geraghty their driving force they hit a great goal and a point in less that a minute mid way through the second half. Kilskyre were growing in confidence at this stage and this youthful Trim Side needed rally and rally they did with Four excellent points on the trot from play .
Two from Stephen Doyle and one each from Aaron McGee and Johnny McEvoy. Manager CJ Murtagh had just introduced McGee and McEvoy and when both came on the hit wonderful points from play. Two great impact players. These were the last scores of the match and Trim were happy with the two points that keeps them in the promotion race.
