Trim produced a determined and hard-fought performance to see off neighbours Boardsmill and secure their place in the semi-finals after a game packed with intensity, momentum swings and plenty of drama.
Boardsmill started brightly and it took a brilliant early save from Paddy to deny what looked a certain goal, with the Trim goalkeeper deflecting the effort over the bar for Boardsmill to open the scoring with an early point.
The opening ten minutes were closely contested, with just the one score separating the sides before Boardsmill finally found a way through the Trim defence to finish to the net.
Trim responded through Mikey Cullen, who calmly converted a free for Trim's first score of the game.
Josh Ayton then took matters into his own hands, getting himself on the scoresheet before, straight from the next puck-out, Mikey Cullen added another superb score.
Josh Harris continued Trim's comeback from dead-ball situations, bringing Trim right back into contention.
With Trim beginning to build momentum, Mark Murray surged forward inside the 45 and raised the white flag to level the game.
The momentum was now firmly with Trim. Harris won a quick free and sent Foley racing forward, with the move ending in another Trim score to put Trim ahead.
Playing with real determination, Donoghue stepped up to join the scoring and Trim moved two ahead, capitalising on some mistakes from the Mill.
Boardsmill fought back strongly before the break, however, and after a tough and fiercely contested first half, Trim went into the interval one point behind — but with everything still to play for.

Harris made an immediate impact after the restart, converting to bring the game level once again.
Trim then hit another purple patch. Cullen brilliantly jinked around his marker before leaving the ball on the stick and finding the back of the net to put Trim back in front.
Tensions were rising as Boardsmill refused to go away, but Mikey was again at the heart of the Trim attack, getting on the end of a fine ball from Oisín Hackett to put Trim two points clear once more.
Brilliant work from Foley and O'Rourke then created the opening for Cullen to add another point, before Mikey stepped up again to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
Boardsmill threw everything at Trim in the closing stages, but the Trim defence stood firm, denying a late goal attempt before opening up the pitch at the other end with Donoghue having the final say, adding the score that finally put the result beyond doubt as Trim secured a hard-earned four-point victory.
