🌱💡Another exciting step forward for our Club and facilities 🌱💡
As we continue to invest in the future of our Club, we are proud to announce the upgrade of our floodlighting system on Pitch 2 to new energy-efficient LED lighting.
The floodlights are a major part of our efforts to reduce energy costs, improve sustainability and provide top quality facilities for all our players and supporters. Over the past four years we have reduced our carbon footprint substantially with improvements to our heating system, installing solar panels and replacing internal and external lighting. All of these actions significantly reduced our energy bills.
The change of floodlights to LED is another step in this process. The new LED floodlights will improve the quality of light on Pitch 2 for hurling and football. They will reduce energy costs and because they are longer lasting they will reduce running and maintainence costs. The installer of the lights was Seamus Byrne Electrical (SBE) who have many years experience in the field and have provided floodlighting for Munster Rugby, Laois GAA, Meath GAA new pitches at Dunganny among many others.
The project to provide the lights is part funded under the Sports Capital Programme of the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport and from the Club's own resources.
