🔴⚾ Foley Hits Three as Trim Minors Shine in Baconstown 🔴⚾
Trim’s minor hurlers faced Na Fianna in Baconstown last Wednesday evening in Division 1 of the Minor Hurling League. Trim enjoyed the majority of possession in the opening few minutes but a series of wides and missed opportunities left them scoreless after 10 minutes.
Na Fianna then opened up a two point lead scoring from both of their first two chances. Ruairi McCaffery opened the scoring for Trim in the 12th minute which was quickly followed by a Tadgh Foley goal. Na Fianna responded with a point from a free in the 13th minute and a goal just a minute later to restore their two point advantage. Alex Cole then pointed a long range free. Trim were then awarded another free less than 40 yards from the Na Fianna goal. Rather than taking his point Alex Cole elected to pass to the unmarked Tadgh Foley on the 21 yard line who fired Trim’s second goal of the game. Foley added his second point just a minute later and while Na Fianna then registered a point of their own the final two points of the half were scored by Trim’s Ruairi McCaffery and Jesse O’Rourke.
