The Trim Junior A Camogie team gave a spirited performance in the County Final on Saturday against a strong Navan side. Leah opened the scoring with a fine point from play, and Trim started brightly, settling into the game well in the early stages.
Navan soon found their stride, however, and began to pull ahead with a series of well-taken scores. Trim kept fighting — Ellen struck a lovely point to keep the pressure on, and Sarah added another just before half-time to give the team a lift heading into the break.
In the second half, Ellen continued to impress up front, adding more points to Trim’s tally. Sarah O’Connor and Julianne worked tirelessly in the forward line, battling hard for every ball and creating chances whenever possible.
At the back, Aoife O’Brien denied some crucial goal chances for Navan by making vital blocks and clearances under constant pressure.
While the result didn’t go Trim’s way, the girls never gave up and played with heart right to the final whistle. Every player can be proud of their effort and commitment throughout the season
A Year to Remember
This young Trim team is improving with every season, and their determination and progress were clear for all to see. There’s no doubt they’ll be back stronger again next year.
A massive thank you to our fantastic management team – Zane, Noel, and Leighton – for all the hours, dedication, and belief you’ve poured into the squad this year. We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Catriona, Caroline and Claire for all their behind-the-scenes help and support throughout the season. This group have managed and looked after our two adult teams and it’s a testament to them that not only have they created such a strong team of girls on the field but who also are so close off the field.
This may be the end of the Championship road, but it’s far from the end for this young team. Trim Camogie has a very bright future. Well done girls – we are all so proud of you ❤️🤍
