The Senior girls put on a truly gutsy and determined performance in a thrilling semi-final encounter against a strong Blackhall side, with the game ending 4-7 to 3-7 in favour of Blackhall.  It was a dramatic, end-to-end battle, and while it’s a tough way to bow out of the championship, the entire panel can hold their heads high after an incredible team performance full of heart, skill, and spirit.

The match began with Blackhall getting on the scoreboard first, slotting over two early points. Trim responded through Mischa with a fine score, followed quickly by a lovely point from Emma H to level things at 2-2. Some superb play from Rian in midfield helped feed the forwards, while Lauren’s tackling and work rate in defence helped keep Blackhall at bay.

Ellen Murray then nailed a fantastic point to give Trim the lead at 2-3. Blackhall struck back with a goal and a point, but Trim’s resolve didn’t falter. Great clearances from Anna Foley, and a goal from Shona White brought the sides level again at 1-3 apiece.

Throughout the first half, Ellen Murray continued to win frees with her smart movement.   Mischa’s work rate and fight were immense, a point from a Shona White free tied the game once again at 1-4 apiece.

More heroic defensive work from Stacey, Alex, and captain Leighann helped relieve pressure, and Trim’s attack answered back with a superbly taken goal from Mischa, sending them into a deserved halftime break with a 2-4 to 1-5 lead.

The second half was fiercely contested, and despite some early goals from Blackhall putting them ahead, the Trim girls didn’t give up. Defensive efforts from Katie, Leighann and Lauren kept Trim in the game, while Ellen, Amy Boyle, and Clíona won vital frees that kept the scoreboard ticking over.

A second goal from Shona White brought new life into the team, cutting the deficit to just one score. Emma H added a crucial point, making it 3-7 to 4-7 as the final whistle blew. Despite the narrow loss, it was a performance full of passion, teamwork, and courage.

A Year to Remember

While the result didn’t go our way, this team has been a shining example of commitment, resilience, and togetherness all season long. A special mention must go to our captain Leighann, who has led the team with strength, determination, and heart every step of the way. Her leadership has been truly inspirational and set the tone for everything this team achieved.

A massive thank you to our fantastic management team – Zane, Noel, and Leighton – for all the hours, dedication, and belief you’ve poured into the squad this year. Your efforts have shaped this team into the warriors they are today.

We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thanks to   Catriona and Caroline for all their behind-the-scenes help and support throughout the season. And of course, thank you to Liz Payne for capturing every moment of our journey through her brilliant photography – memories that will last a lifetime.

This may be the end of the Championship road, but it’s far from the end for this amazing group. Trim Camogie has a very bright future. Well done girls – we are all so proud of you ❤️🤍
