On Monday evening Trim’s Minor hurlers progressed to the Division 1 Championship Semi-Final with a well-deserved win against Kiltale.

Trim started brightly and dominated the possession  early on and moved into a two point lead with points from Tadgh Foley and an Alex Cole free.

Trim wasted a number of scoring opportunities and found themselves behind when Kiltale scored three unanswered frees between the 5th and 12th minutes. The visitors regained the lead in the 15th minutes when Alex Cole found the back of the Kiltale net. Both sides exchanged a flurry of points in the closing stages of the half (Trim’s scores coming from a long-range Leon Harris free, Tadgh Foley, Cormac Walsh and Gareth Reilly) to leave the half time score

The games 3rd quarter belonged to Trim.  In that period they scored 2 goals and 6 points from play (Cormac Walsh 1-03, Alex Cole 1-01 and a point each from Gareth Reilly and Conor O’Reilly) while Kiltale only registered a single point from a free in the same period.  An Alex Cole free and 2 more Cormac Walsh points in a period where Kiltale rallied and scored 3 points of their own gave Trim a 10 point lead heading into injury time.  Kiltale scored their second goal of the match when they converted a close range free but points from Tadgh Foley and Gareth Reilly rounded off the scoring leaving the final score
