Trim began with a strong breeze in the opening half. The girls were made work hard from the start as Kildalkey took early control with two points from frees and a goal before Trim could make it onto the scoreboard.
The girls found their feet and Shona got Trim on the board with a well-taken point, and the momentum began to shift. Ellen Murray, making her Senior debut, quickly followed up with a stunning goal from a free, narrowing the gap to a single point. She added a point shortly after, and the game began to open up.
Kildalkey responded with another point, but Trim stayed composed. Shona converted a free, followed by a neat point from Amy, showing the growing confidence in the Trim attack. Kildalkey weren’t going away, keeping the scoreboard ticking with a couple more frees, but Shona delivered a huge boost with a superb goal that turned the tide firmly in Trim's favour.
Points from Shona (frees), Emma Hannifan (after a blistering solo run), and Ellen (with a monster free from near the 65) kept the pressure on Kildalkey. Trim’s defensive efforts were crucial during this spell, with strong clearances from Anna Foley and Bláthnaid disrupting Kildalkey’s forward momentum.
Ellen Murray added back-to-back points, both from frees, showcasing her accuracy under pressure. Just before the break, Kildalkey keeper fell short to block Trim’s third goal, giving them a commanding halftime lead.

Trim wasted no time in the second half, with Shona once again accurate from a free. Kildalkey responded with a point, but Trim struck again through a smart link-up between Amy and Emma O’Neill, who calmly slotted a point.
Trim's goalkeeper Gráinne produced two fantastic saves from frees, denying Kildalkey crucial chances and forcing a wide and a 45. Kildalkey managed to convert one of those, but Shona continued to punish any fouls with pinpoint free-taking.
A standout moment came when Ellen brilliantly intercepted a Kildalkey puck out, halting their build-up and driving Trim forward again. Mischa then added a fine point to keep the scoreboard moving.
The final blow came when Shona struck her third goal of the match, sealing a superb all-round team performance. The final whistle blew with Trim finishing as deserved winners.
