🔴⚾ Our U/15's girls headed to Kildalkey to represent the Club in the Meath Féile on Saturday 12th April.

⭕Trim were in Div 2 Gold Group against Drumree, Kildalkey and Blackhall Gaels/Dunboyne and in the Green Group were Boardsmill, Ratoath, Donaghmore/Ashbourne and Clann na nGael and games were straight through 20mins.

⭕Drumree were their first opponents with both teams very evenly matched and there was no separating the teams on the final whistle with the game ending in a draw

⭕Blackhall Gaels/Dunboyne were next up and the girls were nicely warmed up and settled into the game from the start making good use of the 20 mins with nice passing and skill working the ball and some excellent scores to take the win.

⭕Kildalkey were the last group game and with the other games in the group already played this was a must win game for both teams to have a chance to get into a final.   A fast, action packed game from the throw in with each team matching each other for scores but with some great puc outs from Aisling in goals and great marking from all the girls Trim gained the advantage with a three point win.   Nothing was guaranteed though and there was then a nervous wait checking on score difference and Trim were through to the Final against Ratoath for a chance to qualify for the National Final

FINAL – Trim v Ratoath.    Unfortunately for Trim it was a straight turnaround from their last game into the Final and coming up against a strong Ratoath team who had only just been relegated from Division 1.    But the girls didn’t let this deter them.    From the throw they took the game to Ratoath and fought for every breaking ball and ran hard at Ratoath taking their scores and there was nothing separating the two teams for fifteen minutes.  The last 5 minutes saw Ratoath step up a gear and get a few scores ahead of Trim.   The girls kept battling till the final whistle but were unable to make up the difference.     We wish Ratoath and their management all the very best when they represent Meath in the National Féile.
We are so proud of how the girls represented our Club and how well they worked together as a team.    Comhghairdeas to the girls and their Coaches, Ger Flanagan (lead), Colin Byrne, Peadar McCaffrey and Barbara McCaffrey (FLO)
