Tuairisc Cluiche - A high scoring game leading to a deserved win for the home team in their Championship first round.
Our Peil na mBan Faoi 16 Div 3 team welcomed Gaeil Baile Shiomoin to St. Loman’s Park on Sunday last for a 4pm throw in.
Both sides worked hard in this high scoring game, with Baile Shiomoin starting off the better of the two, drawing first blood. It took Áth Troim a few minutes to settle their nerves as the scores started to build for the visitors. Áth Troim got into their groove, pulling ahead until the 21st minute when the visitors caught up with them. A goal just before the half time whistle put the home side ahead.

After a review of their 1st half, Áth Troim came out fighting building on their lead. The flow of scoring for both sides continued coming thick and fast. A strong scoring 2nd half, having emptied their bench, left the home side with the win much to the delight of the home crowd.

Both teams performed admirably giving Referee John Kavanagh, and this author, a job of work keeping up with the scoreline!
