FT Blackhall Gaels 2-07 v Trim 1-07
📝 Noel Hughes
Trim played their second round of the Senior Camogie Championship in Batterstown on Saturday evening, the 10th of August. The throw-in was at 7.30 pm, and it was Blackhall who were first on the scoreboard with a point from play in the second minute. Trim replied a minute later with a well taken goal from Amy Boyle. Shortly after that, Trim were unlucky not to get a second goal when an excellent strike from Shona White came back off the crossbar. Blackhall then got a goal from a long ball, which eluded the Trim defence in the low summer sun to put them ahead. There was little between the teams, but it was Blackhall who were making most of their chances scoring three points in a row. Shona and Anna Foley added points for Trim before Blackhall again found the back of the net just before half time.
Half-time score: Blackhall Gaels 2-05 v Trim 1-02
Blackhall got the first score of the second half with a quick point from play. Trim responded with four points in a row from Alex Donoghue, Amy Boyle, and two from Shona to get Trim right back into the game. Trim's young team were dominating the game and were unlucky not to be level after missing a few good opportunities. Both Trim and Blackhall added points towards the end of the game, but it was Blackhall who took the spoils with a score line of Blackhall Gaels 2-07 v Trim 1-07
Trim will look forward to the next round against Drumree on the 19th of August and will take lots of positives from a great battling performance.
