Full Time :Trim 2-10 St Mary's 2-4
Half time Trim 0-1 St Mary's 1-4
Despite the rain and howling wind, our U13 Div 6 team produced a brilliant second half performance to make it two wins from two with victory over St Mary's at Donore yesterday.
With their home pitch closed, Trim surrendered home advantage, travelled to Donore and were immediately put on the back foot by having to play against the wind.
However, some brilliant defending by Seoirse Barry, Sophie Lynch, Emily Gantley, Isobel Ryan and the outstanding Zoe May Cashell limited St Mary's who were also denied a couple of goals by superb saves from Ruby Byrne.
With Aisling Canty and Olivia Forde working tenaciously against the wind, Trim dominated early on and opened the scoring from Ava Flattery.
St Mary's used the wind to their advantage and in one of the last attacks of the opening have they snuck in for a goal to lead by 1-4 to 0-1 at the break.
Undaunted, Trim chipped away at that lead after the resumption with Katelyn McLoughlin, Ava Flattery and a fine goal from Aisling Canty edging them ahead.
St Mary's retook the lead with their second goal, but with Molly Flattery dropping back to help her defence Trim didn't concede again.
A goal from the excellent Alannah Doyle was followed by an unbelievable point from an impossible angle by Maggie Murray and Trim were in complete control.
Ava Flattery, Zoe May Cashell and Alannah Doyle all added further scores as the Trim side proved too strong for their older opponents.
Ruby Byrne, Sophie Lynch, Seoirse Barry, Isabel Ryan. Zoe May Cashell 0-2, Emily Gantley, Olivia Forde 0-1, Aisling Canty 1-0, Molly Flattery, Katelyn McLoughlin 0-1, Alannah Doyle 1-2, Ava Flattery 0-3, Maggie Murray 0-1
