U17 Div 3 Átha Troim v Naomh Michael
St. Michaels were welcomed to St. Lomans Park on Sunday last for a 5:30 throw in slightly better weather conditions than previously experienced that week. From the start of the game Trim made sure to show they meant business with an unchallenged move on goal from the throw in which led to a goal within the first 30 seconds from midfield.
Trim continued to keep the pressure on in the first half, with some great passing and kicking up the field. They kept track of their own kick outs and fought for any picked up by St. Michaels.
The first half involved good streak of goals and points for both sides with Trim coming out ahead at halftime. St. Michaels started the second-half strongly and began to pull back some of the lead that Trim had gained. Despite them not having any subs available, they fought valiantly through the whole of the second-half, never letting their heads drop. Trim were in the enviable position of having a number of substitutes available and all made an impact on the final score.
Referee on the day was Ian Dowdall, who together with his umpires, showed great fairness which was appreciated by both sides.
Trim now go on to stage 5 where they play St.Mary's this Friday night 29th March in Donore. As always special mention to the management for their time and dedication and to the parents for their continued support throughout the season.
