⚾ Trim 2-16 v Ratoath 2-13
Trim @supervalu_trim continued their good start to the season with a well deserved victory over arch rivals Ratoath at a windswept and bitterly cold St Loman’s Park.
Despite the recent inclement weather, the home pitch was in excellent condition and a big thanks is due to Vicky Douglas and Groundstaff in that regard.
Once again the Trim team consisted of seasoned performers, with a number returning from County duties, ably assisted by talented players from the underage ranks.
Trim made the early running and, despite playing into a stiff breeze, led by 1-3 to 0-3 midway through the first half thanks to points from Kyle Ennis (0-2, 1f), and David Murtagh, and a well taken goal from Josh Harris. Padraig O’Hanahan was Ratoath’s talisman with his accurate free taking and a fine point from a side line cut and another from fully 80 yards, while David Murtagh, with a brace of scores, and Joey Cole kept the scoreboard ticking over for the home side.
Half Time: Trim 1-6; Ratoath 0-9
